Reliable fluorine control in circular feedstocks

The petrochemical industry is increasingly integrating circular feedstocks such as waste plastic pyrolysis oil (WPPO) to reduce dependence on fossil resources and improve supply security. While these alternative feedstocks play a key role in advancing circularity, they also introduce new analytical challenges - particularly with regard to fluorine. Unlike conventional crude oil, pyrolysis oils may contain varying fluorine concentrations originating from additives used in plastics. Even trace levels of fluorine can cause severe corrosion and catalyst poisoning in downstream refinery processes. Fast, reliable fluorine monitoring is therefore essential to ensure process safety and protect valuable assets.
