PhyTips by Biotage are advanced pipetting tips equipped with an integrated separation column, designed to process a sample through dual flow chromatography. These tips are available with a variety of affinity resins, tailored for diverse protein purification needs.
The flexible automation of this purification process using the CyBio FeliX Liquid Handling System from Analytik Jena eliminates repetitive manual steps, thereby enhancing reproducibility and achieving higher purity levels. This automation is designed to accommodate a variable number of samples, ranging from 1 to 96 in parallel, and supports various affinity resins.

How to perform PhyTip protein purifications with CyBio FeliX

In the Application Studio, select the PhyTip columns you are intended to use, customize your purification run and choose whether the required buffers should be pre-filled automatically by the CyBio FeliX.

Load the decks of the CyBio FeliX as indicated in the Application Studio: Place the required number of PhyTip columns in the designated tip holder, position your samples and buffers (or already manually pre-filled plates) accordingly.

Start the PhyTip application in the Application Studio and watch how CyBio FeliX handles your workflow. CyBio FeliX performs buffer prefilling, equilibrates the PhyTip columns and purifies up to 96 samples in parallel, ending with the final elution of your target protein.

The Application Studio indicates successful purification by a message box. The eluted target protein can be either collected or optionally neutralized automatically by the CyBio FeliX after a brief change of tips and buffers on the decks.
