Laying of the foundation stone at Analytik Jena

"A broad foundation to develop further": Starting signal for the construction of the Analytik Jena Campus at the Jena Göschwitz site / Together with our parent company Endress+Hauser, we are investing approximately 45 million Euros

Jena, September 5, 2023 – On September 5, the foundation stone was laid for the new Analytik Jena Campus at the Jena-Göschwitz site. The demolition of the old building, which began in the fall of 2022, has been completed. On its expanded footprint, the future main campus building with five levels will be built. It is to be completed by fall 2025. 3,600 m2 of production and storage space, 5,600 m2 of office space and 2,300 m2 of laboratory space will be available to develop and manufacture laboratory equipment. The additional 15,000 m2 of net floor space will create space for a total of around 550 workplaces at the Analytik Jena Campus.

"With this, we are building a broad foundation to develop further," explains Oliver Klaeffling, Managing Director of Analytik Jena GmbH+Co. KG. "Together with the Endress+Hauser Group, the company is committing to its Jena site, where Analytik Jena was founded in 1990 and has developed since. We are creating the basis for our future growth so that we can serve our customers in an excellent manner."

The new building became necessary due to the cramped conditions in the existing buildings, especially for the laboratory and production, which left little room for growth. The Swiss parent company Endress+Hauser is investing around 45 million Euros together with Analytik Jena.

With regard to energy sustainability, the construction project includes, among other things, photovoltaics. For water and heat, a reuse concept will be put in place, and the roof is greened. Analytik Jena relies on local partners and resources: The Proma company is responsible for the project management; the Weimar office CML is in charge of the architecture. For the construction itself, a consortium Neubau Analytik Jena was created, consisting of Ed. Züblin AG, Jena area, and Habau Deutschland AG.

“We are happy to help shape the Analytik Jena campus. Everyone involved in planning and construction is pulling together and working flat out on the further development of the site," explains Michael Stange, Technical Division Manager, Directorate East, Ed. Zueblin AG.

Grit Petzholdt-Gühne, who is responsible for the project on the Analytik Jena management board, says: "We consider ourselves lucky to have found a solution that enables a future at the well-connected existing location and will offer our employees excellent general conditions."
