FasTrans | Universally and flexible

The spectrum of applications of the FasTrans ranges from simple pipetting of microplates through to complete production of a PCR batch. Besides fully automated pipetting of sample dilutions and washing routines, also reagent, sample and mother -daughter plate transfers can be performed. All 96, 384 and even 1536 plate formats can be handled.
The different available multi-channel heads can be mounted either at orientation of 0 or 90 degree. Hence FasTrans is suitable for a multitude of general pipetting tasks in sample preparation of small to medium sized samples. Its versatility also excels in use as a low-density arrayer.

Easiest possible PCR batch preparation

FasTrans was especially designed for automated preparation of PCR plates. Rapid production of PCR batches in standard PCR plates/tubes as well as in “SpeedCycler” 36 and 96 well plates is easy and reliable.
The risk of cross-contamination can be reduced furthermore by the use of piercing capable sealing foils. By the possible adjustment of the dosing speed, also viscous media can be processed without problems.

Alternative use as a microarrayer

FasTrans, a compact tabletop device, can also be used as a microarrayer in biochip research and development. The freely selectable spot layout allows handling of biochips of various sizes. This permits the programming of dots down to 0.5 μl and dosing in pre-defined formations onto the biochip.

Software with intuitive operating concept

The software is impressive by virtue of its clearly structured graphic user interface. This guarantees safe handling and hence ease of operation. The simplest possible selection of pipetting parameters always ensures faultless pipetting results.

Available pipetting heads

For the FasTrans a number of pipetting heads are available. Those are exchangeable in a simple way without any tool. You may choose between 1, 3, 4 and 6 channel heads for
0.5 – 30 μl or 5 – 250 μl pipetting volume. Multi channel heads can be mounted either at orientation of 0° or 90°.

Small size - big performance

The small-sized pipettor is the ideal tool to replace manual multi-channel pipettes from the lab. For the preparation of a run just provide the needed solutions in up to eight 1.5/2.0 ml and up to eight 0.2 ml tubes to the sample tray, add up to 16 pipette tips as well as the destination plate and the whole pipetting routine, which can be simply adjusted by user-definition is proceeding the program of choice.

The drag-and-drop system of the software and the clearly arranged user-interface will simplify the programming. Furthermore flexibility is an important feature of the MiniPep Uno. The two one-channel pipetting heads are interchangeable by a simple click-technique and cover a volume range from 0.5 µl to 250 µl.

Easy handling and understanding

Nevertheless the unique design is an advantage, following the motto – "see whats happening" – as the casing of the MiniPep is made of Plexiglas. The front door, which can be opened easily, allows a smooth cleaning of the device interior without any special tool needed. The sample tray is removable and thus fully autoclaveable. Besides the offered filter tips are perfect to reduce any potential contamination to an absolute minimum. Additional after usage the pipette tips are wasted into a separate waste box located underneath the device.

The SELMA 96 is a semi-automatic pipetting instrument, which fills 96 wells in one step, which avoids these aches in your arms. The automatic tightening of the tips avoids the stressful and cumbrous loading of tips. The tips are delivered tailored, thus they are ready to use. The time-consuming assembly of the tips will be a thing of the past.


A special feature: The manual control of the correct fit of each single tip is not necessary anymore due to the automatic tightening of the tips and the tip sealing technology, proofed in high throughput. The tips can be changed effortless in a few seconds and the SELMA 96 is now ready for the next application.
There are two working positions for microplates and reservoirs, which are easy to load. Thus, you can avoid permanent movements of filled reservoirs and microplates.

The SELMA 96 works like an electronic manual pipette, and you can handle it easily with a touch screen. The different pipetting modes demand the input of the desired volume only. Then, the SELMA 96 can be started directly without time-consuming teaching. It is a pipetting instrument for everyone.

Always reproducible and comparable results
The 96 channels of the SELMA 96 provide a save and accurate transfer of 96 samples in one step. Mixing up samples or neglecting single wells will belong to the past. The high quality tips and the tip sealing technology are tested in high throughput for many years. Hence, they provide precise and reproducible results. Thereby, the tips are sealed perfectly and constantly by a silicone mat. The accurate and similar movements of the pistons ensure reproducible and precise results without differences in the pipetting performance.
Furthermore, there are two instrument types (maximal volume of 25 µl or 250 µl) for the corresponding volume range. Due to the compact design the SELMA 96 can be used in a laminar flow to achieve perfect results.

More flexibility

The possibility to combine the SELMA 96 with different accessories like reservoirs, trays for several tasks and various TipTrays ensures a fast execution of different applications.
These accessories can be easily changed and cleaned to continue the work quickly. Already existing accessories like heating and cooling adapters, shakers and vacuum chambers can be used with the system, too. Special adjusting aids afford a correct positioning of these instruments. Different TipTrays and trays enable to execute applications in a complete 96- and 384 well microplate format as well as in single columns of a microplate. Thus, you cannot only carry out serial dilutions quickly but also replicate or reformat microplates and fill microplates with buffers as well as exchange media. The SELMA 96 features the possibility to adapt the pipetting speed on appropriate conditions to meet the requirements of different liquids.

 

Automatic tube handling

The CapStation is a small robot station for automatically filling and capping tubes. The customized equipment includes a station for volumetric dosing of beads and for dosing solutions, as well as a miniature capping robot with torque pre-selection. The basic station consists of the hopper for the screw caps and a mini swivel-arm robot with cap gripper.

Depending on the task, the basic station can be equipped with different dosing stations for free flowing media and for solutions. Coupling several syringe pumps (KP60) enables different solutions to be dosed in the system cycle. To increase the cycle time, two robots can work in parallel. Alternatively, the swivelarm robot can also be used to fit the caps. Adaptation of the robot station to other screw caps and vessels is offered separately. Besides manual insertion, fully automated loading and unloading of tubes is also possible.
